Just as an example for you, we will use a single subject for you to try out....
"restaurants"
In today's economy,
won't businesses that truly want your business usually travel to you
within reason if they are a service company? Or if they are a
retail business, won't they want you to know about what they have to
offer you? Sure they would! Sometimes we search much too
broad an area or topic, and sometimes we try to focus our searches way
too small! I know, how can you win? First thing, with newer
search engine technologies, you can type in many words not just 2 or 3.
Searching for "Area"
and "Topic" specific results is fast becoming the most effective way to search with the
onslaught of those
40,000 New
Web Sites
being registered every
single day.
If
we just type in "restaurants",
we find our results are from all over the world, and unless we are very
rich and want to jump on a plane, then that won't work will it? Then
again, we could type "florida
restaurants" and still be
much too broad a search! Ok, now we can go the other way and not
get many great results either....
"vero
beach restaurants" which
will work just fine, you will find some good, yet limited results
because not all businesses are in tune with Internet yet!
Here is what we are
finding the general public is starting to use to find the best of all
worlds.... Go with the "County", "City"
or "Town" you are interested in as your area.... "st lucie county" for example and then add your topic
of interest! "st
lucie county restaurants".
This kind of "Area"
and "Topic"
specific searches have a tendency to eliminate an awful lot of non-relevant
results that make searching very difficult sometimes, and deliver the
variety we need in this information age! Here is a printable list of
the most common business categories for effective searching....
