Your Hosting Service is comparable to your property or land, and your Web Site is like the home being on that land or property. These are the 3 ingredients required for a basic web site.  Now of course you will require an ISP, (Internet Service Provider), to view or work on your web site if you choose to manage it yourself.   FREE, this is the one word to stay far away from on the Internet, Free is like the worm on the hook.... there is something else coming trust me! Free simply means that the offering company has another way to earn revenue, like selling your information to other promoters or forcing your web site to have advertising you did not put there and so on.  Let your competition have the FREE stuff!  Next, the search engines do not see what you and I as humans see, they see the HTML code, (Hypertext Markup Language).   HTML code?  Yes, just "Right Click" on this page, then click "View Source", to see HTML code, then close the window when you are finished. Browsers: your browser is the software loaded on your machine to allow you to view the Internet, many people confuse this with web sites.  The main 3 Internet Explorer, Netscape and AOL.  No matter which browser is your personal preference for surfing the net, wouldn't you like to know that your business is viewable on the most popular?
